Store History

The origional store (an 800 square foot men's only clothier),was located across the street from 1947 until 1983.  The store was owned by Karlene's parents from 1960 to 1981,when Todd and Karlene purchased the business. In 1983 they purchased 'Baldwin's Dry Goods' across the street and merged the two stores into 8000 square feet at its present location. Since then the store has undergone a number of changes. The biggest change came when Karlene opened her new business,'Accents Northwest' in the same location in 1999. There has been a clothing store in this location since 1925. The building itself was built in 1917 using a local material called "Stayton Block". 'Jensen-Kreitzer is one of the last small town department stores in Oregon.
